Empty drip tray appears on the coffee machine display during the descaling process even though the drip tray has already been emptied several times.
CM 5x00: Too much water was added for the descaling process.
Please note that you must not add more than 0.5 l of water to the water container to dissolve the descaler. Otherwise the descaling solution will be too thin and limescale deposits may form on the appliance. In addition, faults may occur if the descaling solution flowing through the appliance is not measured properly.
The drip tray contacts (metal discs) are soiled.
The contacts (metal discs) will not be able to detect whether the drip tray is full or has been fitted if they are damp or dirty. Check the contacts and the area around them once a week.
The contacts (metal discs) are located at the back of the drip tray.
