Dishwasher smells bad

The dishwasher smells bad and there are deposits and small particles of dirt on the load items.

If food residue or dirty crockery is stored in the dishwasher for prolonged periods of time, bad odours can develop.

Do not store dirty crockery in the dishwasher for prolonged periods.

Run a programme every few days, even if the dishwasher is not full.

This will stop the crockery from smelling bad.

The frequent use of low-temperature wash programmes (< 50 °C) increases the risk of germs and odours inside the wash cabinet.

Regularly run a high-temperature programme. This is to prevent the build-up of residues and odours.

However, if limescale or grease deposits occur, use a machine cleaner to clean them. Follow the instructions on the product packaging.

Build-up of odours from dishwashers that have been in operation for a long period of time.

Wipe the door seals regularly with a damp cloth to remove food deposits.

Wipe off any food or drink residues that may have dripped onto the sides of dishwasher door.

Clean the filters in the wash cabinet regularly.

Clean the spray arms on a regular basis.

Check that the inlet hose and the drain hose have been installed correctly.
