Crockery flecked or not dry

The crockery is not dry or cutlery and glasses are flecked.

The rinse aid quantity is set too low or the rinse aid container is empty.

Replenish the rinse aid, increase the dispensing quantity or change the brand of rinse aid used. Please note that adding too much rinse aid can result in soapy residue on crockery.

The dishwasher was not loaded or unloaded properly.

Load crockery so that the water can drain off freely.

Leave the appliance door (on appliances without automatic door opening) closed for at least 15 minutes. This will allow the residual moisture to evaporate uniformly.

First unload the lower basket, then the upper basket and finally the cutlery tray (depending on the model). This will prevent water drops from the upper basket and cutlery tray from falling onto the crockery in the lower basket.

The duration of the drying phase for the selected programme is not sufficient for the crockery (particularly for plastic crockery).

Select the Extra dry function (depending on the model).

The cleaning agent used does not meet requirements.

On G 1000–G 2000 series dishwashers, it is necessary to select the 2 in 1 or 3 in 1 button as appropriate when using multi-purpose detergents. This has an impact on drying results.

From the G 5000 series onwards, the dishwasher automatically detects if multi-purpose detergents were used.

For thorough and gentle cleaning of glasses, crockery and cutlery, we recommend Miele products.

Only for dishwashers with water softener:
The water hardness of the rinse water is too high.

Fill with dishwasher salt, irrespective of the hardness of the water supply, and set a higher water hardness in the water softener.

The selected programme does not include a drying cycle.

Ensure that a programme including a drying cycle is selected. If the drying results are unsatisfactory, use other programmes.
