Automatic descaling not carried out

Set the Descaling timer or Maintenance timer to a different time when the coffee machine is switched off for at least 4 hours. For this reason, it is best to set an evening start time or a regular time during the day when you are always out.

Deactivate MobileStart  for automatic descaling.

Ensure that the conditions for automatic descaling are fulfilled:

• Depending on the model: a descaling cartridge or cleaning and descaling cartridge which is ready to use is fitted.

• The coffee machine is connected to the electricity supply. The coffee machine must not be disconnected from the electricity supply during automatic descaling.

• The drip tray, brew unit and central spout are inserted.

• The water container fills up.

  • Built-in coffee machines with water container operation: the water container is filled with water at least up to the descaling mark .

  • Countertop coffee machines: the water container is inserted and is filled with water at least up to the  descaling symbol (at least 500 ml water).

• Carry out the instructions which appear in the display before switching off the coffee machine, e.g. Empty the drip tray or Empty and reinsert drip tray and grounds container.

• The appliance door is closed when the programme is started.

• Countertop coffee machines: the milk pipework is inserted into the holders in the drip tray cover and on the central spout.

• The coffee machine is switched off.
